I want to introduce you to one of our Athletes Jamie Salmon. Each Month we are going to highlight one of our athletes and show the results they have achieved so far and the progress that they are making. The results Jamie has achieved so far is a testament to his hard work and dedication.
So, I’ve been doing this thing called Crossfit….
Back in December I went for a routine checkup and had some bloodwork drawn. No big deal. Until I got the results.
Triglyceride – 1,478
Total Cholesterol – 315
HDL – 24
LDL – uncalculatable due to high triglycerides.
In case you’re like me and had no idea what those numbers mean, here’s the healthy levels…
Triglyceride – <150
Cholesterol – <200
The doc gave me two options. Daily cholesterol medication, or a diet and exercise change.
I chose option #2. And signed up for #crossfit.
I just had my 90 day followup and my results?
Weight – 217
Triglyceride – 187
Cholesterol – 130
HDL – 28
LDL – 65
I have also deadlifted and squatted over 300lbs for the first time ever!
Crossfit works. If you put in the work. It’s expensive but it’s worth it. Elizabeth and I pay $150/month. But we were easily spending that much on fast food every month! Think about it, $5/day = $150/month!! We stopped the damage that we were doing to our bodies AND are now investing in our future together!
I hit 40 last year and nothing changed. Until I got those blood test results. Now I’m striving to be healthier and happier than I’ve ever been in my life. I want a#sixpackinmyforties.
